Redpath Donates $15k to Junior Achievement

St. Paul, Minnesota (December 11, 2017) – Accounting firm Redpath and Company, Ltd. (Redpath) donated $15,000 to Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest (JA).

Mark Gibbs, Managing Partner, and Sarah Gengenbach, Human Resources Director, visited the BizTown facility within the JA headquarters in Maplewood, Minnesota to present a check for $15,000.

JA offers financial literacy, college and career readiness, and entrepreneurship education to K-12 students in Minnesota, North Dakota and western Wisconsin. Several weeks of classroom learning culminates in a day-long visit to JA BizTown, a fully-interactive simulated free market lab where students become adults for a day.

The timing for the donation was especially unique this year. JA had an offer from another local business to provide matching funds for donations received. The matching funds would be used to support expanded programming in local area schools.

"[The Redpath] gift will go toward helping us receive these matching funds which collectively will directly support this outreach," explained Karyn Thompson, Community Partnership Director for JA.

This is the eleventh year that Redpath employees have had the option to donate a portion of their annual salaries to support a charitable organization, which are are matched by the company at the end of year. In addition to the financial contributions to JA, Redpath employees also spend time volunteering in their classrooms.

Since 2011, Redpath  and its employees have contributed over $165,000 in charitable donations and sponsorships.
